Obituary for Ronald A. Swilling

Ronald A. Swilling, a resident of Irving for forty-six years, and previously from Plainview Texas, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015. He was born to E. P. Swilling and Delcie Blair Swilling in Throckmorton, Texas on February 24, 1932. He worked in Quality Control for Weben Industries and retired after 20 years of service. In 1984 he started a car wash construction business and sold it in 2000. Ronald loved restoring old Volkswagens and was an avid deer hunter in his younger days. He was preceded in death by his wife, DeLores Swilling and son Ronald Swilling, Jr., and is survived by son, Rocky Swilling and wife Kim of Sanger, TX; a daughter, Ann Davis of Coppell, TX; grandsons, Jonathan Swilling, Nathan Swilling, Mitch Davis, Jason Davis; granddaughters, Amber Swilling, and Dee Dee Davis; seven great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson; and brothers, Jerry Swilling and wife Nan of Odessa, TX, John Swilling and wife Mary of Flower Mound, TX, Bobby Swilling and wife Penny of Irving; sisters, Millie Gore and husband Travis of Coleman, TX, Mary Rachel Wallace of Abilene, TX. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Brown’s Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jack Blease; burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
