Obituary for Eva G. Means (Gallatin)

EVA (GALLATIN) MEANS, born August 5, 1925, to Ernest and Lillie (Ottinger) Gallatin, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2015. She graduated from Adamson High School in 1942. After a brief career at T&P Railroad, she married her husband, Harry Means, in 1947, raising four daughters. She was a longtime member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, Harrison Cotton, both in July of this year. Her mind was kept sharp through her love of novels, jigsaw and word search puzzles while drinking her favorite beverage, Dr Pepper. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Vicki and Tony Batman, Jeanne and Stan McGlothlin, Terri and Andy Callaway, and Karen and Mike Dattilo; grandchildren, Nick and Anna Batman, Preston McGlothlin, Brock Batman, Caroline Cotton, Brett McGlothlin, Philip Dattilo and Katelyn Dattilo; a sister, Cora Barnes and husband, Melton; many nephews, nieces, and friends. A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church located at 1615 W. Airport Freeway in Irving at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2015. A private graveside service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. The family will receive friends at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
