Sheila McElroy Kendro, longtime Irving resident, died in Irving on February 7, 2016 at age 89. Her life began in Dallas, Texas where she was born to Joseph and Eileen (Murphy) McElroy on August 19, 1926. Sheila earned her Bachelor’s Degree from University of Texas. She will be remembered as loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother by her son Johnny Kendro and wife Cindy; son Kevin Kendro; daughter Sheila Kendro and husband Gene Fischer; son Mark Kendro and wife Jackie; daughter Julie Kendro; son Brian Kendro and wife Michele; grandchildren Kristin, Kevyn; Kara, Shannon, Justin, Ethan, Rachael and Suzanne; Great-grandchildren Grace, Kayla, Jonnie, Mason and Malakia along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, her four siblings and her beloved husband John J. Kendro. Sheila loved life and treasured her extended family and time spent with lifelong friends. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Richard Bezzegato at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Irving. Burial in Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas immediately following. Sheila’s family will receive friends at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home in Irving on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM.
