Hampton Chandler Brown, age 71 of Irving, Texas passed away on March 21, 2017 in Irving, Texas.
Hampton was born on June 9, 1945 in Newburgh, NY. Parents of Leonard “Bubby” and Ruby (Chandler) Brown.
After graduating from Valley Central High School in Montgomery, NY in 1963 he was drafted into the United States Army in 1965 and served. He fought in the Vietnam. He also was an active member of the VFW #2012 in Abilene, Tx as well as VFW #2494 in Irving, Tx.
Once returning from Vietnam, he returned to New York and relocated to Abilene, Tx. There he joined the Sales world and worked for General Electric for several years. He then moved to the Ft.Worth-Dallas Metroplex. Hamp was a very sociable and lively person! He was better known as, “Downtown Hampton Brown” to many of his friends and family. You were always guaranteed a laugh when you were in his presence.
Hampton is survived by his daughter Rebecca Brown of Nashville, Tn and his older brother Bruce Brown of Oneonta, NY.
Service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. sharp at the Dallas-Ft.Worth National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life party will be held at the VFW #2494 in Irving, TX following the service.
