Robert David Johnson of Dallas passed away April 10, 2017. He was born on January 24, 1940 in Boone, Iowa to Robert and Mabel (Davis) Johnson. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Robert served in the United States Army in the Philippines during peace time and was very proud of his service to our Country. He loved music and the mountains in Texas as much as he loved the cornstalks in Iowa. Robert was a SMU Graduate with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast and Film. He was a devoted member of Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas. He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by loving wife Jan Johnson of Dallas; brother Gene Johnson and wife Bennie of Lebanon, Missouri; son Robert David Johnson, Jr. of Austin; daughter Lindsey Mason and husband Kevin of Wellington, New Zealand; grandson Oliver Mason and numerous other extended family members. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stan Copeland officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held later.
