Obituary for Bernice Davis

Bernice Schmitz Davis was born in Lindsay, Texas to Anna and Henry Schmitz on June 30, 1931. She later moved to Irving, Texas where she met the love of her life and husband of 70 years, Raymond Davis. Together, they had 10 children, 56 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and their family business – a legacy that will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.

Bernice devoted her life to her children and was Raymond’s unwavering champion and anchor. Some of her most cherished memories were made at Possum Kingdom with family and friends, and traveling the country with Raymond in their RV. Bernice had an incredible sense of humor and never failed to offer a quick-witted comment. She was a life-long member St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Irving, as well as a member of the Altar Society. She was also in the Irving Water Ski Club, the “Mother of Twins Club”, a co-founding member of the NON-BIS Club, bowling teams, R.V. Chapters and so much more.
