Obituary for Betty Jean Scott (Horton)

Betty Jean Horton Scott was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on May 23, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. She was born to parents Robert and Jessie Horton on March 9, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Betty married the love of her life Howard J. Scott in 1971 and spent 28 blessed years together cooking, traveling, laughing, and dancing. She loved owls and collected them throughout her life, "shing, going to the casino and later in life developed a passion in arranging flowers.

In 1998, Betty, Howard and her granddaughter, Alannah moved from White Plains, New York to Irving, Texas where they were welcomed by their family to the state. Together they traveled the city and open roads of Texas. Betty found her new home in Irving. She took pride in her work over the years from being a caregiver to families and a data entry specialist. She was a determined loyal woman that you can always count on. Betty will always be remembered as a faithful and loving friend, sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Scott; father, Robert Horton; mother, Jessie (Murrell) Horton; and sister, Ollie Horton. Le# to cherish her memory is her daughter, Angela Scott; granddaughter, Alannah Myleka Scott; sister, Bernice Lang-ford; brother, Robert Horton; sister, Ann Powell; brother, Albert Horton; as well as numerous other family and friends who will miss Betty dearly.
