Betty J. Matthews Truitt, 88 of Irving, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Betty was born on August 14, 1934, in Dallas, Texas to Curtis Baily and Sally Bailey Adams. She attended Oak View Baptist Church in Irving for several years. She retired from Haliburton Corporation as a computer program analyst. Betty was an avid baseball and football fan and loved watching her Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Friends and family loved her cooking especially her tacos and everyone referred to her butternut pecan Bundt cake as “amazing.” She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy Davison and brother Buster Bailey. She leaves behind her son John Matthews of Irving and many dear friends and extended family members who will cherish her memory. Graveside services will be held at Crandall Cemetery in Crandall, Texas.
