Obituary for Carolynn Corley

Carolynn Corley passed to Heaven February 6, 2023 while residing at a rehabilitation home in Tyler, Texas, where she spent her last days under the watchful care of her husband John (Jack) Corley. Carolynn was born on July 4th, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Louis Carrol Stark and Mildred Suedmeyer Stark. Carolynn grew up in Irving, Texas, with her two brothers, Louis Carrol Stark, Jr., and Byron Stark.

She is survived by her husband John (Jack) Corley of Tyler, TX; one brother, Byron Stark and wife Shirley of Dallas, TX; children: Carol Carter and husband Chris, Barbara Corley; Gary Corley and wife Chris, and John Corley; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Carolynn went to work two days after graduation from Irving High School as a secretary. She worked as a secretary for real estate lawyers and became the primary escrow secretary at Dallas Title during the beginning and development of Las Colinas.

Carolynn married Everett Veach and had two daughters, Kathy, and Carol. Later she married Jack Corley who helped with the raising of the girls and his three children.

After retiring Jack and Carolynn enjoyed their pleasant home and yard in Irving, Texas. Carolynn loved painting landscapes and would give many of her paintings to her family. Jack and Carolynn enjoyed many vacation-type trips together.

She is preceded in death by her father, Louis Carrol Stark; mother, Mildred Suedmeyer Stark; brother, Louis Stark, Jr.; and daughter, Kathy Blackburn.

A Celebration of Carolynn’s life will be held at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens 1413 E. Irving Blvd. Irving, Texas 75060.

In lieu of flowers donations in Carolynn’s name can be made to Choice Hospice in Tyler, Texas.
