Charles “Mike” Diehl was a highly skilled gunsmith. He specialized in black powder long rifles and his attention to detail was off the charts. He was a collector of many things such as Hot Wheels, guns, baseball cards, and many others. Where there was water there might be fish and Mike couldn’t wait to catch’em. He was a very patient and honest man and talented with his hands. So much so, he tied his own flies, and wrapped his own rods. He was a perfectionist who believed that anything worth doing was worth doing right. Mike was a patriot who served in the US Army. He declined a medical discharge and insisted that he complete his enlistment. Mike was well respected by many and loved by his friends and family. He loved his family dearly and invested much time in their lives. He was a loyal member of the National Rifle Association and the Twin Trail Gun Club. He will be remembered as a man who made many sacrifices for both his county and community and was also a lover of history. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.

Charles is preceded in death by parents: Dick and Wilma Diehl; Sisters: Janice Barge, and Linda Ann McDowell. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Diehl; daughter, Charla Davis; step daughter, Terry Towe and husband Eddie; grandson, Tyler Davis and wife Mackenzie; granddaughter, Tory Kyle and husband Brian; brother, Dale Diehl and wife Becky; step grandchildren: Bobby, Monte, and Dustyn Edmonds; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.

Family will receive friends between 6:00pm to 8:00pm, on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 N. MacArthur Blvd Irving TX, 75061. A funeral service will be held 9:00am, on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 N. MacArthur Blvd Irving TX, 75061 with an interment immediately following the service at Voca Cemetery in Voca TX.
