Obituary for Charles Bonner Stalcup, Jr.

Charles Bonner Stalcup, Jr. passed away March 10, 2021 in Dallas, TX at 93 years of age. He was born November 2, 1927 in Sherman, TX to father, Charles Bonner Stalcup, Sr. and
mother Lottie Cook Stalcup as well as loved by his stepfather: W. L. Ingram.

Charles proudly served in the US Navy HM 3-World War II and Korea. He was decorated in Korean War for heroism after saving an aviator from a burning plane. He went on to receive his BS and MS in Education at North Texas State University. Charles worked for Chance Vought Aircraft for 39 years as Program Manager upon retirement. He was known to have loved his fellow employees, his planes, and his boat. Charles was an active member in many organizations such as: Irving YMCA Football Program, A Mason for over 50 years; Stanfield Lodge 217-Denton, TX; Scottish Rite-Dallas, TX, and Hella Temple, Dallas, TX. He was an active member of Kirkwood Methodist Church for over 50 years.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Stalcup; brother, Tommy Ray Ingram; son, Charles Stalcup; son, John Gilbert Stalcup; grandson, Charles Emmitt Laws; mother, Lottie Stalcup; father, Charles Stalcup, Sr.; and stepfather, W.L. Ingram. Left to cherish his memory is daughter, Dr. Leslie Laws-Burley and husband Jay; son, Brett Stalcup and wife Sanka; daughter-in-law, Cindy Stalcup; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other family and friends who will miss Charles dearly.

In lieu of flowers family asks donations be made in Charles name to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, Irving School Foundation, and/or Southlake High School Booster Club, in memory of Coach Charlie Stalcup.
