Edgar Allen Tennison of Irving, Texas passed away on the evening of Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 85.
Edgar, also known to his family and friends as PeeWee, was born on October 21, 1935, in Raton, New Mexico. While attending and graduating from Raton High School in 1954, he also studied nights with the University of New Mexico for 2 years. From July 1954 – June 1958, he proudly served in the US Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class. He started a career in transportation in 1959 as a yard clerk and retired in 2000 from Landstar System after 14 years as a Safety Coordinator.
Greeting Edgar in Heaven are many of his family, including his beloved wife Mary, his parents Roy and Emma Tennison, siblings: Roy Tennison, Jr., Jackie Mae Morgan, and Mildred Wilson, son-in-law Jerry Stahnke, and granddaughter Paige Beathard. He is survived by his wife Astrid Yamhure of Irving, TX; daughter, Helen Stahnke of Midlothian, TX; son, George Tennison and wife Jeanette of Marble Falls; daughter, Debra Beathard and husband Ronnie of Pilot Point, TX; daughter, Milly French and husband Jamie of Haslet, TX; step-son; John Cerimele and wife Cassandra; step-daughter; Jessica Curtin and husband Justin; sister-in-law, Helen Bolenbarker of Irving, TX; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and more treasured nieces and nephews than can be counted.
Family will receive friends for a visitation from 3:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. Irving TX, 75061.
Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a private graveside service with military honors on April 5th at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Edgar’s love of his country by donating to any veteran’s organization.
