Obituary for Ella Foreman-Reeves

Ella Louise (Guthery) Foreman Reeves, 87 years old, passed away on February 26, 2022 with her children by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a kind and devoted friend and neighbor. She was known for her easy-going nature, generosity, and encouraging spirit...And she was always ready to give a hug or a compliment.

She was born December 5,1934 in Desdemona, Texas to Roy and Nannie Elizabeth (Perdue) Guthery and later moved to Irving where she lived, worked and volunteered for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Reeves, of 27 years; daughter, Glenda (Foreman) Garrett (husband Richard); son, Ricky Foreman (wife Renell); granddaughter, Tiffany (Garrett) Shurts (husband Aaron); 2 great-granddaughters, Jillian and Sydney Shurts; great-grandson, Nikolai Niederschuch; step-son, Frank, Jr. (wife Sheryl); step-grandson (Nallen Davidson), numerous nephews and nieces, and extended family members.

Mrs. Reeves is preceded in death by her first husband of 36 years, Clyde Foreman, who passed away in 1988; her parents; sister, A.V. (Guthery) Seay; brothers, Robert James Guthery, William Doris (Buck) Guthery and Charles Marion (Pug) Guthery.

She enjoyed basketball and played in high school and for a City of Irving women's basketball team. She went on to coach girls basketball and softball for the City of Irving, including coaching her future daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She was a respected and hard-working employee with Exxon for 25 years until she retired in 1992. She then enjoyed many years volunteering at Baylor Scott & White in Irving. Her most cherished memories were the times spent with her beloved family, either for holidays, special gatherings, or in just keeping in touch through phone calls, letters and cards.
