Frances C. Atkinson passed away August 3, 2022, in Irving, Texas at the age of eighty-five. She was born on July 26, 1937, in Gladewater, Texas to parents Charles and Ernestine Covert. Frances started her career at Irving High School where she taught English for 10 years in the 70’s and early 80’s. She then went on to work for the Dallas Apartment Association until 1991. After her time with Dallas Apartment Association Frances went to work for Moore Disposal as a dispatcher until her retirement in 2009. She loved her lottery tickets and was known to be a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks and loved to take her grandchildren to a Mavericks game any chance she got. Frances will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Frances is preceded in death by her father, Charles Richard Covert; mother, Ernestine Thelma Covert; and niece, Kelley Covert-Seiler. Left to cherish her memory is her son, James Atkinson and wife Jennifer of Surprize, Arizona; daughter, Leigh Watson and husband Doug of Irving, Texas; brother, Dick Covert and wife Sheila of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren: Shauna Pritchett, Anthony Pritchett, Jessica Ambrose and husband Clay, Cody Watson, and Beau Watson; great grandchildren: Braxtyn Watson, and Kaladin Ambrose; nephew, Brent Covert and wife Nicole; as well as numerous other family and friends who will miss Frances dearly.

The Family welcomes all to the Brown's Memorial Funeral Home between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a 'come and go' gathering to share stories, pictures and hugs while remembering a Life Well Lived.
