Obituary for Frances "Jane" Haag (Erwin)

Frances “Jane” Haag passed from this life at 78 years of age on Monday, March 23, 2020. She was born in Madill, Oklahoma to Claude Ernest and Jessie Eddie (Hall) Erwin on Monday, November 17, 1941. Jane was truly a remarkable woman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will forever be missed. On June 7, 1959, in the small town of Elmo, Texas, Jane married the love of her life Roger Haag. Jane worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter for 20 years. She enjoyed many things like traveling, cooking, sewing and get-togethers with her family, but the biggest enjoyment in her life were her grandchildren. Jane’s sewing talent and passion shined in the quilting area, and for many years past she would make quilted blankets for all the newborns coming into the family. These quilts have been and will continue to be cherished by her family. Jane is preceded in death by her parents Claude and Eddie. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Roger Haag of Quinlan, TX; daughter Debra M. Abbott and husband William of Rockwall, TX; grandson Collin R. Abbott and granddaughter Taylor M. Abbott of Rockwall, TX; sister Claudia Jean Ottwell and husband Johnnie of Sherman, TX; Alice Maria Christ of Bossier, LA; sister Gloria Dean Ivey and husband Calvin of Irving, TX as well as numerous extended loving family and friends.
