Obituary for Frank Hern, Jr.

Frank Hern, Jr. passed away December 31, 2021, in Arlington, Texas as the age of seventy. He was born on June 9, 1951, to parents Piedad “Peggy” and Frank Hern, Sr. in Sena, New Mexico. Frank proudly served his country in the United State Army as a Ranger in the 173rd Airborne Special Forces from September 2, 1969, to May 5, 1973. After his service in the Army Frank went on to work as a cement finisher for many companies in New Mexico. He also worked as a volunteer fire fighter in Albuquerque, New Mexico for many years.

Frank is preceded in death by his son, Frankie Hern, father, Frank Hern, Sr., and mother, Piedad “Peggy” Hern. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Angela Giacchina; brother, Kenny Hern; brother TW Hern; two daughters: Andrianna King and Monique Hern; grandchildren: Hunter Erujillo, Amarinth King, and Jocelyn King; as well as numerous family and friends who will miss Frank dearly.

A visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. thru 7:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 North MacArthur Blvd. Irving, TX 75061. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in Brown’s Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 North MacArthur Blvd. Irving, TX 75061.

Graveside with Military Honors will be held at 2:15p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75211.

Please join family and friends after the funeral for a Celebration of Life January 19, 2022 at VFW Post 2494 1333 S. Belt Line Rd. Irving, TX 76060. Helpful Hints: Landmark Old World Lumber just before or after that sign depending on which way you are going on Belt Line Road. Once you turn in, drive all the way past the warehouses – if is on your right in the trees. Hazard: When you turn in from Belt Line Road – go slow big dip and you could bottom out front end of your car.

In lieu of flowers family ask that donations in honor of Frank be made to Wounded Warriors or any military/veteran’s organization helping those who served or are suffering from PTSD.
