Obituary for Frankie Lara

Mrs. Frankie Lara passed on April 7, 2021 peacefully at the age of 88 years old. Born to Frank Mitchell and Sophie (Werner) Mitchell in Dallas, Texas. Frankie was a devoted wife to Juan "Johnny" Lara and enjoyed 40 years of marriage before Johnny passed in 2014. Frankie was a joy to be around. She always seemed to have such a positive outlook and attitude toward life. She enjoyed learning about and watching birds; she said they brought her joy. Frankie had a very impressive salt and pepper shaker collection and completely pampered her dog Josie, named after the outlaw Josie Whales. Frankie loved to dance and even toward the end of her life any time she heard music she just could not control herself, she had to get up and dance.

Preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Juan "Johnny" Lara, and her son Richard Howard. Left to cherish her memory is her son Mike Howard; brother Donald Mitchell; stepdaughter Cindy Martin; granddaughter Jadett Lynch; grandsons Kirk and wife Christina; grandson Jerimiah Howard and wife Courtney; great grandsons Brick and Atreyu Howard; niece Charlotte Jefferyes; niece Wanda Rager and her husband Benny; niece Twanna Halsey and her husband Leonard; niece Shari Mitchell Stevens; and nephew John Mitchell.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas.
