Obituary for Glen Sheridan

Glen Sheridan of Gladewater, Texas gained his angel wings on March 15, 2021, surrounded by his children and adored wife after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born on July 30, 1952 to Harold Hubert Sheridan and Wanda Whittle Sheridan. And oh what a day that was, for he was different. He was one of a kind, and fiercely loyal to his family and all those close to him.

Glen grew up in Gladewater, Texas and that is where he met the love of his life, Marsha Mays. They were married in 1974. The two of them spent their happiest of days camping out, attending spear fishing tournaments, and boating on the lake.

Glen and Marsha were married for 46 years and had two children, Laura and husband Nick Willett, and Travis Sheridan and wife Mollie. Glen loved spending time with his family at the beach, supporting his kids in sports, and leading tribes with Indian Guides/Princess. Chief Bald Eagle was the man! Glen’s greatest passion was his family, and he took no greater joy than being ‘Peeps’ to his four precious grandchildren, Cambrie Willett, Truett Sheridan, Tenley Sheridan, and Case Willett.

Glen worked alongside his family for 45 years in overhead crane sales and service. He was greatly appreciated by his customers for his dedication and expertise in this field. He was a hardest of workers, with his grease-stained hands to prove.

Glen was a member of Christ Church in Irving, Texas. He was a gracious man of God, filled with faith, hope, and love. Many described him as a big man with an even bigger heart. He had the unique ability to make each person in his life feel extra special. He never met a stranger and even in his last days was touching lives.

Glen loved riding his Harley out on the open road. He took many road trips with his biker buddies all over the country. He also had a great passion in honoring U.S. veterans. He attended numerous Honor Flights that allowed veterans to visit the World War II memorial sites.

Much of his time during his last years was spent at his lake house on Moss Lake, pushing rocks from pile to pile on his tractor, keeping the birds well fed, and creating endless memories for his family.

He greatly mourned the death of his father, Harold Sheridan, a WWII hero, and his little sister Regina Whisenant. He is survived by his loving mother, Wanda Sheridan and sister, Dorinda Mitchell.

If Glen somehow did not make an impression on your life through his love, service, boldness, or honesty, then you definitely remembered him by his trademarked handlebar mustache.

Glen was a bright, tie dyed, and neon light in this world, and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him. For his wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

Family will have a private invite only celebration of life for Glen due to Covid restrictions. Those unable to attend the celebration of life will be able to view a live stream by clicking the link below.
