Obituary for Henry "Opa" Seidmeyer, Sr.
Henry Earl Seidmeyer, Sr., lovingly known to his family as “Opa,” peacefully slipped away from this life Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of ninety-four. He was blessed with good health and a strong heart until the time of his passing. Despite these uncertain times, his loving family was by his side through the end being consoled by knowing he was prepared to enter into the care and keeping of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances, his son, Henry Earl, Jr., and his daughter Cindy Cody. He is currently survived by his son, Robert Ellis and his wife, Donna, their daughters, Shanan Harris and Sheryl Schuler along with their families; granddaughters Naomi Seidmeyer and Becky Murphey along with their families, and grandson, Robert Cody.
Henry always wanted to serve the Lord first and foremost. Spiritually, his heart was full of love for the Lord, for truth, for the Church, and for the lost. He was a member of the Beltline Church of Christ in Irving, TX. He previously served as a missionary for four years and was a full-time minister at nine different congregations. He was a heavy supporter of Mission Printing and many preachers around the world. He did numerous good works with multiple organizations and supported the preaching of the gospel which was the passion of his life.
The family wishes to highly praise and warmly thank the wonderful caregivers of Good Life Assisted Living in Duncanville and Heart to Heart Hospice. Their care of the family was as supportive and helpful as the splendid care received by our loved one. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
Funeral service for Henry will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Beltline Rd. Church of Christ 1202 N. Beltline Rd. Irving TX, 75061. A committal will follow the funeral service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens 1413 E. Irving Blvd. Irving TX, 75060.
