Huey Glen (HG) Hughes passed away peacefully on July 15, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 19, 1936, in Shelby County, Texas to parents, Tracy and Opal Hughes. Huey loved working on his home which included taking diligent care of his vegetable garden. He enjoyed fishing and loved to weld. Huey always made sure to travel back to his hometown in East Texas at least once a month. Above all, Huey will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Huey is preceded in death by his father, Tracy Hughes; mother, Opal (Bradshaw) Hughes; sister, Melba Battles; brother, Spencer Hughes; brother, Jerry Hughes; sister, Cheryl McCauley; and son-in-law, Bill McGee. Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life and loving wife of 66 years, Iris Virginia (Jen) Hughes; son, Marshall Glen Hughes and wife Sheila; son, Grady Wayne Hughes; daughter, Sherrie McGee; bonus daughter, Stacy Blanton; granddaughter, Jenna Braddy and husband Chad; granddaughter, Tammy Miller; granddaughter, Stephanie Reeder and husband Chris; grandson, Daniel Perry; grandson, William McGee and wife Anabella; great granddaughters: Rylee, MaKenna, Taylor, Kinley, Charlotte, and a great grandson on the way, yet to be named, but know as Lucky Boy McGee; sister, Carrie Bailey; sister, Virginia Campbell; as well as numerous other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will all miss Huey greatly.
