Obituary for Lavern Cotton

Lavern Cotton passed away March 31, 2021 in Irving, Texas at the age of 83. She was born to parents Novis and L.G. Beam on July 13, 1937 in Huntington, Texas. Lavern worked at Sears Roebuck Co. as well as in the insurance industry, but it was raising her children that Lavern considered her greatest accomplishment. Her kids will never forget her amazing fudge they all wanted her to make at Christmas time. She was a faithful member of Oakview Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir.

Lavern is preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Coy Cotton; daughter, Jackie Buentello and husband Joe; daughter, Marilyn Moore and husband Steve; daughter, Lynda Randle and husband Randy; son, Glen Cotton; sister, Lynda Wadley and husband Joe; grandchildren: Nick Moore, Ben Buentello and wife Kelsee, Collin Randle and wife Samantha, Garret Randle and wife Ellie, Samantha Milligan and husband Brandon, Cody Cotton, and Kaili Cotton; four great grandchildren: Loralie, Cerenity, Raelee, and SkylarFaye; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends who will miss Lavern dearly.

In lieu of flower family ask donations to be made to the Oakview Baptist Church Building Fund the church Lavern was so committed to.
