Obituary for Jane Y. Scott

Jane Y. Scott passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 29, 1932, to parents Walter and Minnie Melton in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Jane’s passion was sewing, and it showed in her work as a seamstress. She also enjoyed many crafts that allowed her to work with her hands such as painting with watercolors and making Christmas decorations. Jane was known to be a bit of a homebody and loved nothing more than for her family to come to her home and spend time together. Above all Jane will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt who loved her family very much.

Jane is preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd Scott; father, Walter T. Melton; mother, Minnie Lee (Geasling) Melton; brother, Carl Melton; brother, Max Melton; brother, Ronny Melton; and sister, Marjorie Melton McClellon. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jackie Humphrey; daughter, Becky Rozell and husband Tony; son, Kevin Scott and wife Anna; daughter, Lea Ann Scott; grandchildren: Chad Humphrey and wife Leslie, Eric Humphrey and wife Holly, Steven Julian and wife Veronica, Dana Hines and husband Bruce, Wayne Scott and family, and Joel Scott; great grandchildren: Alexis Brown, Brandon Humphrey, Tyson Julian and wife Destiny, Jonathan Humphrey, Christopher Humphrey, Aidan Julian, and Zane Humphrey; brother, Charles Melton; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and family who will miss Jane dearly.

Family will receive friends from 4:00p.m. thru 6:00p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. Irving, Texas 75061.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. Irving, Texas 75061.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, Texas 75211. Family and friends will drive in procession from Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home to the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
