Obituary for Jeanne Brown

Jeanne Fields Brown, 82 a life-long Irving resident, community leader and business owner passed away February 20, 2022, in Irving. Jeanne was born on January 20, 1940, to Richard Clyde Fields and Lillian Jean (Embree) Fields. Jeanne graduated from the original Irving High School on 6th Street. She was a member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church and was active in many civic organizations including Irving Rotary, Irving Heritage Society, Irving Symphony League, Irving Chamber of Commerce, The Texas Funeral Directors Association, and The Oldtimers Club. She enjoyed fellowship and dancing at the Irving Senior Center, her Sunday school class and spending time with family and spoiling her twin granddaughters when they were young and later her great-grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was helping families during their time of need as owner of Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home carrying on the legacy after the death of her beloved husband Ben’s death. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben F. Brown, Sr.; son Richard Brown, brother Richard "Jack" Fields and great-grandson Caden Christopher Selbach. Left to cherish her memory are son Ben Brown, Jr. and wife Susan of Irving; twin granddaughters Megan Carney and husband Mike; Michelle Johnson and husband Travis; great-grandsons Conner Stephen Selbach; Cooper Benjamin Selbach; Michael “Sean” Carney, Jr. and great-granddaughter Emma Faye Lael Carney and her beloved 4 legged companion Misty. The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm., Dr. William LaBarr officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Boulevard in Irving. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital,To Donate Please Click Here
