Obituary for John A. Mikusek

John A. Mikusek, age 57, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was born in Dallas, Texas to Daniel F. and Leona Theresa (Berend) Mikusek on Thursday, June 13, 1963. John was a lifelong Irving resident, graduating from Nimitz High, class of 1981. In 1990 he married the love of his life Debbie, and over the last 30 years they built a life surrounded by love with their three children. John worked as an electrician, and during his down time he enjoyed wood working and was a great handyman. Although he has left this world, his time spent here on this earth will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those around him. John was preceded in death by his father Daniel Mikusek, brothers Mark Mikusek and Paul Mikusek, and sister Lisa Howard. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Debbie Mikusek; daughter Cali Mikusek; son Matthew Mikusek; son Jeffrey Mikusek; mother Leona Mikusek; sister Janet Hill and husband Mike; brother Eric Mikusek as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. A visitation will be held at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving between 5:00 and 7:00pm, with a Rosary to be said at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be held at The Holy Family of Nazareth, 2323 Cheyenne St. in Irving on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1:30pm. If you would like to join the family after the service, a reception will be immediately following the service at Spring Creek BBQ, 3514 W. Airport Fwy, in Irving.
