Larry Gene Nye, age 77, died on Friday, July 19, 2019. Larry was born on September 26, 1941 in Center, Colorado to Mildred (Noffsinger) Nye and Robert Nye. Larry was a good man who was very generous with his time. He coached Baseball, Basketball, and Football at the River Bottoms for thirty years. He also invested his time serving on the board for each sport. Larry really enjoyed working out in the yard. He had a strong work ethic and things had to be done right with no exception. He could fix anything and learned how to do it without YouTube. He enjoyed shooting guns and was an avid hunter. When he wasn’t coaching, he was watching his grandkids play. He was always available to his boys without question and offered sound advice whether they wanted it or not. He was very proud of his grandchildren and very fond of his great grandbabies. He grew up as a farmer and this had an impact on how he viewed life. Larry served his family and his community well. Larry is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are wife Betty Nye; sons Rick Nye, Scott Nye and wife Michelle, Greg Nye and wife Pamela; brother Bill Nye and wife Arlene; sister Cara Nye; grandchildren Lexington, Mikaela, Durance, Nick, Josh, Garrett, Chelsea, Jaxon; great grandbabies Lillith and Axel; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, ball players and loving friends.
