Obituary for Linda A. Fischer

Linda Annette Fischer

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away at her home surrounded by her family in Irving, TX on June 24, 2020. Linda was born August 13, 1948 in Sanger, TX. She was a graduate of Irving High School and attended Dallas Baptist University.

Linda will be lovingly remembered by her son Curtis James and wife Julie, and granddaughters Grace and Teagan of McKinney, TX, brother Jerry Fischer and wife Marilyn of Lufkin, TX, and sisters Judy Fischer Jones of Lufkin, TX, Sheila Fischer and Delores (Dee) Norris of Irving, TX, and caregiver and friend Gary James of Irving, TX.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Davis and Juanita Fischer of Irving, TX and sister Joan Fischer Hatcher of Gainsville, TX. At Linda’s request, she is to be cremated and her ashes spread in her beloved Rocky Mountains. At this time Linda’s family is planning a small, private service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.

Linda enjoyed a career in the real estate and mortgage banking business which spanned more than 40 years, retiring from Bear Stearns, EMC Mortgage in 2009. When asked to comment on the best thing about her job, Linda always responded “the people, I have made so many friends here”. In Linda’s younger days she was an avid gardener, cook and talented pianist and enjoyed the quiet pleasures of her home and family. Early on Linda developed a passion for the outdoors and until her health conditions made it impossible, she spent as much time outdoors as time and family permitted. Linda made annual trips to Colorado to fly fish with friends and family, spending up to a month at a time fishing and hiking in her beautiful Rockies. She also enjoyed time with friends and family in the Playa del Carmen area of Mexico where her favorite thing was swimming with the dolphins. Linda was a rare combination of someone who had a love for life and a firm understanding of what was important….living a simple life with those you love. Linda leaves to her granddaughters Grace and Teagan a legacy of love and a shared passion for God’s creations. Linda will forever be in our hearts.
