Nancy K. Watts passed away February 9, 2022, at the age of seventy-five. She was born into a Navy family while stationed near Los Angeles, California to parents Clet and ‘Sal’ Wagner in November, 1946. The family epicenter remained on the farm in Minnesota. Nancy worked as an administrative professional to improve oil drilling safety, quality elder care, bring natural non-pharmaceutical products to market, and send deserving scouts to Philmont Scout Ranch. Philmont specializes in developing leadership skills during exciting mountain treks. The organization is also known for spiritual growth. She gradually transitioned into event planning and certification including being a board member to encourage others to learn necessary skills and seek certification. In 2009 Nancy was the recipient of the Members Choice Award from Meeting Professionals International, as well as the St. George Emblem from the Boy Scouts of America in 2014. Even when working heavy hours, she showered family and friends with homemade sewing goods. After retirement, she made quilts for Scottish Rite patients. She is truly a Proverbs 31 woman.
She attended both St. Luke’s Catholic Church and later Holy Family Catholic Church during the 27 years she lived in Irving. She was a member of the Irving Quilt Guild and Thread Pickers. Nancy loved travelling with her family and her sewing club. To her family Nancy was an endless spring of overflowing love. There was no limit to her generosity; a constant willingness to provide a safe, affectionate, uplifting, and nourishing second home when we were in need. However, her standards for courtesy and shared housekeeping earned her the reputation of ‘Nancy’s Finishing School.’
Nancy is met in heaven by her parents; her loving husband, William “Bill” Watts; brother, Robert “Bob” Wagner; and nephew, David Wagner. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Keith Wagner and wife Vickie; sister-in-law, Jackie Wagner; nephews: Dale, Heath, Joshua, Matthew, Neal, and Coleman; niece, Teresa; aunts: Hope and Pauline; grandnephews: Ryan, Brenden, Nathaniel, Graham, and Sterling; grandnieces: Claire, Naomi and Olivia; great grandnieces, Scarlett, and Jessie; as well as a host of lifelong friends and their children who will miss Nancy dearly.
