Obituary for Rachel McAdams (Loosier)

Rachel McAdams, age 96, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, October 18, 2019. She was born to Prince Henry and Pearlie Lucille (Pool) Loosier in Brownsboro, Texas on Monday August 20, 1923. Rachel worked as a machinist for 35 years, retiring from 3M company in 1988. She was charter member of the Living Word Global Church in Irving. She loved her church family and is fondly remembered for her outgoing and caring personality. Rachel was never one to meet a stranger and would always welcome others with love and care. She is lovingly remembered as an affectionate and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who could make the best pot of red beans as well as the best chicken and dumplings. Later in her life Rachel enjoyed spending time with Lainey the cat whom she referred to as “her baby”, going to the beauty shop every Tuesday and then going to Joe’s Coffee shop after. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Maynard McAdams in 1970, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 2 infant siblings and 2 sons in laws. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Shirley McClean - Tipton and husband Donald Tipton; daughter Linda Custer; daughter Janice Burton and husband Randy; sister Una Faye Lowrey; brother Otis Loosier; grandson Rick McClean and wife Pattie; grandson Chris Custer; grandson Michael Custer and wife JoAnne; grandson Chad Burton and wife Jennifer; grandson Scott McClean and wife Charlotte; grandson Christopher Burton; great grand children Madeline, Chandon, Kylie, Juliana, Katie, Ethan and Hannah; great great grandson Ryder, as well as numerous extended family and church friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00pm, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home, 707 N. MacArthur Blvd in Irving. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the funeral home with an interment at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 E. Irving Blvd, immediately following.
