Obituary for Rebecca "Becky" A. Hugman

Rebecca Allen Hugman left this earthly realm on December 18th, 2020 at the amazing age of 94. Rebecca – or Becky as she was known to her friends – was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother of a family whom treasured her.
Becky was born in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1926. Her father, Mathews Allen, was a minister and she was the second youngest of 6 siblings. Her father’s ministries brought the family from Virginia, to Tennessee, and finally to Texas.
Becky graduated from high school at the age of 15 and attended Bethel College in Western Tennessee. She met the love of her life Harve Hugman in San Antonio after his service in World War II where he took pilot training. They were married in 1947 and had two boys, Kerry and Robert (Bobby) whom went on to marry and have loving families of their own.
Becky loved being active in church activities at First Presbyterian Church and later the Woodhaven Presbyterian Church in Irving, Texas. She was very much involved in civic and community affairs throughout her life, including the creation and planning of the Irving Senior Center in downtown Irving as well as a leadership position with PEO.
Becky is survived by her sons Kerry and Bob and their wives, as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was loved by her friends, relatives, and neighbors. She was known as a strong Christian woman whom was generous, loyal, educated, and beautiful both inside and out.
Becky enriched all of our lives, and though we will miss her dearly, we are grateful that she may now rest from a well lived life and is now in her heavenly home. A visitation will be between 11:00am and 12:00pm, on Thursday, December 24, 2020. Becky will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Harve at the Dallas Fort Worth Nation Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy in Dallas, at a graveside service on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 9:30am.
