Richard Clayton Laye II (affectionately known as Rick) Rick was the most kindhearted man who took great joy in being with his family and close friends. He will be remembered as being a very reliable and helpful person to the benefit of those who knew him best. Rick loved cooking. Smoking meats was his specialty and he really enjoyed presenting his food to family, friends and neighbors. Rick was always a bit of a loving troublemaker who was rough around the edges but was also known as an honest person, passionate about jokes and making others laugh and who gave super huge hugs. A trait he inherited from his daddy. Rick rarely passed on the opportunity to prank others as this was an expression of love. He genuinly loved fishing and racing events of all kinds. Rick loved tinkering around with stuff and was a very creative craftman making and giving homemade gifts. Rick was very family oriented and loved his grandkids. He had a very special bond with his granddaughter Anna. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.

Rick is preceded in death by father, Richard Clayton Laye. He is survived by, mother, Wilma Laye; daughter, Trina Laye-Harmon; grandsons; Barry Jr. and Ricky Harmon; granddaughter & best Friend, Anna Harmon; sister, Pam Hardman & husband Thomas; brother, Michael Laye & wife Sheila; Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
