Obituary for Robert "Bob" Chapin

Robert (Bob) Milo Chapin age 92 went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 in Irving Texas.

Bob was born November 6, 1930 in Los Angeles, CA, to George and Blanche Chapin. He attended Occidental College and was drafted into the army in 1951. He attained the rank of Sergeant in Korea, being awarded the Combat Infantry Mans badge and The Korean Service medal with two bronze service stars.

In 1953, he joined the postal service, where he served for 28 years. He was a Postal Inspector working in Midland and later in Dallas. He specialized in mail theft and fraud investigations. He retired from the postal service in 1980. Following his law enforcement career, he worked as mailroom manager at Chuck E. Cheese national headquarters in Irving. He retired again after 25 years at age 77.

On June 24th, 1961, Bob married the love of his life Mary in her home state of South Dakota. He was baptized that same year and later became deacon at Bellview Baptist Church in Midland, TX. In recent years, he enjoyed his morning breakfasts at Joe’s with friends, watching the Cowboys & Rangers play and going to visit with Mary.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorothy Bleich is survived by his wife, Mary Chapin, his daughter Kathleen and her husband Douglas Price, his son Dewey and his wife Marie Chapin, his grandchildren Amanda (Patrick), April (Nate), Jenica (Mark), Caleb, Masey, Luke and great grandchildren Hannah, Harper, Lane, Lennox and Aubri.
