Obituary for Tom Malone

Thomas (Tom) Glenn Malone Sr., 74, died Friday, July 22, 2022 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center- Irving, Texas due to heart failure.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Keiko (Uchima) Malone, daughters Sandra Holloway and Tanya Malone, sons Thomas Malone Jr. and Michael Malone, twin sister Ruthie Mussaw, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many other close friends and family on this Earth to be with The Lord.

Born September 5, 1947 in Dallas, Texas and raised in Irving, Tom was the son of Allen Glenn Malone and Wilma (Ruffin) Malone.

After graduating from Irving High School in 1966, Mr. Malone attended El Centro College- Dallas for 2 years before being drafted into the U.S. Army. While serving his country, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Vietnam War. He met his future wife and lifetime companion while serving overseas. After getting married, they returned to his hometown of Irving, where they would raise their four children and ultimately remain.

Mr. Malone pursued a career in sales after his military stint. He worked for many corporations over the years, spending the majority of his time as a Sales Manager. Towards the end of his career, Tom was able to pursue his childhood passion for horses. He owned several successful race horses before being forced into early retirement due to health issues.

During his retirement, Tom spent most of his time at home with family. He faithfully attended Grace Pointe Church- Irving. When he wasn't at church, he would fill his days gardening, cooking barbecue, playing cards, entertaining his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and of course spending time with his loving wife.

A funeral service will be held August 10, at Grace Pointe Church with burial at Dallas-Ft.
Worth National Cemetery to follow.
