Obituary for William "Bill" Phillips
William “Bill” Phillips passed away peacefully June 11, 2021, in Irving, Texas at the age of 89. He was born October 24, 1931, in Gladewater, Texas to parents William and Minnie Clements.
Although a longtime resident of Irving, his roots came from east Texas. He was Gladewater High School Alumni, class of 1951 and Bill was happy to be known as half of the "Phillips Twins". Bill worked at LTV for 40 years in the missile and space divisions. Proud of his service to his country with the Texas Army National Guard and his commitment as a Mason in the Irving 1218 A.F.&A.M. Masonic Lodge for over 55 years.
Bill is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Billy Claire “B.C.” Simpson Phillips; son, Riley Scott Phillips; mother, Minnie Mae Phillips; father, William Riley Phillips; twin brother, Eddy Phillips; brother, Hershel Phillps; sister, Murle Phillips Rhodes. Left to cherish his memory is daughter, Callie Jo Phillips Pritchett and husband Lucky; grandchildren: Abby Pritchett Freeman, Rachael Phillips, Sarah Pritchett Guillot and husband Paul, and William F. Phillips; 11 great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends who will miss Bill dearly.
Family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. thru 7:00p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 North MacArthur Blvd. Irving, Texas 75061. A funeral service for Bill will be held at 10:00a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home 707 North MacArthur Blvd. Irving, Texas 75061 with Masonic rites to be performed following the chapel service.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00p.m Friday, June 18, 2021, at Union Grove Cemetery 212 Union Grove Cemetery Rd, Gladewater, TX 75647 with Military Honors to be preformed at the graveside.
