Legal Eagles
Dottie and I worked together at J&G for the last seven years of its existence. Both of us were perfectionists when it came to legal documentation. Since she had seniority, she taught me a lot about legal word processing, and after a while, she entrusted me with the long complicated documents. Sometimes we would split them; one of us would take the first half of a 100-pager, and the other one (usually me) would start from the back end. This practice precipitated some humorous events when it came to proofreading our work. But Dottie and her eagle eyes made sure the work got done right and that we didn't make any attorneys angry with us.
Dottie was a great gal. When there was a break in our work, she talked about Gretchen, the pride of her life. I'm so glad that she got to spend time with her grandchildren. I'm guessing that right now she's watching over them and smiling.
