Obituary for Billie Pat Neff

Billie Pat  Neff
On Sunday, June 14, 2015 Billie Pat Neff went to be with his Savior God. He leaves a great legacy of love for Christ, Country, and family. A legacy in which he built along with his dedicated wife, Mary Catherine “Kitty” Neff, over a 67 year marriage. Bill, age 89, was born November 21, 1925 to Emor Tracy Neff and Gertrude Elizabeth Satterwhite Neff in Dallas, Texas.
Bill served in the Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1946 as a tail gunner in the B24. He served in the Air Force Reserve from 1951 to 1969 when he retired from military service as Senior Master Sergeant. While serving in the Air Force Reserve, Bill worked with Texas Instruments as a Quality Control Engineer until his retirement from TI in 1987. Upon his retirement, he put all his energy into First Presbyterian Church of Irving. He volunteered as the Church Administrator in which he was involved in the business aspects of the church. He continued his service to the church and God until First Presbyterian Church dissolved, following which he was an active member at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church.
Additionally, Bill supported the Air Force Sergeants Association, troop leader for his son’s in Boy Scouts of America, and coached his daughter in Irving Girls Softball Association.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne Paul, Ted, and Jim Neff. His legacy continues with his beloved wife, his sons Mike Neff and wife Carolyn of Avon, CO; Patrick Neff and wife Cynthia of Carrollton; Timothy Neff and wife Terri of Irving, and daughter Nancy Neff of Savannah, GA. His two remaining brothers are Melvin Neff of Irving, and Joe Neff of Franklin, TX.
His pride and joy is his family, and he was blessed with six grandchildren John Neff, Katie Hartman, Ashley Sanderson, Kelli Oglesby, Houston Neff MMN2 (Navy), and Courtney Jones. Bill’s grandchildren blessed him with 6.5 great grandchildren…Leah Hartman, Jack Hartman, Hannah Riley Oglesby, Lela Mae Neff, Elliot Nicola Neff, Raegan Phair Sanderson, and due in August Sarah Noelle Oglesby. His love for God and his family will carry-on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 9:30 AM on June 22, 2015 at Woodhaven Presbyterian Church. Inurnment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas will follow at 11:30. Memorial donations can be made in Bill’s memory to Woodhaven Presbyterian Church at 3650 N. O’Connor Rd in Irving, TX 75062 and/or Irving Cares at 440 S. Nursery Rd, #101 in Irving, TX 75060.
