Sleepovers with PapPap

I have great memories of spending the night over at Granma and PapPap's. PapPap would play games with Granma and I (usually skip-bo or Uno), creating silly phrases like "sausage" for playing multiple cards in a row and poking fun at me for playing "mean cards". Cards were always following by a big bowl of velveeta nachos, watching whatever game was on, and then staying up late to watch MASH reruns. Usually in the mornings we would all go walk the mall, and PapPap always had the ladies after him! Who can resist a dashing italian man like himself?

I have particulary fond memories of being over there with him during pecan season. Picking and shelling pecans while his beloved boston terriers Butch and Bruno mercilessly terrorized the neighborhood squirrels. I remembering having green stained thumb nails for days after shelling buckets of pecans with him.

Things that will always remind me of him:

Texas Rangers, MASH, pecans, polenta, and peach trees.
